Rather than walking straight into the city after arriving in the port, we decided to explore in the opposite direction. We followed a path along the shoreline, spotting Yellow-legged and Black-headed Gulls over the water and Feral Pigeons, Rock Doves and Wood Doves on the wooded side of the road. We visited a French Worker's boat and a small castle museum before heading inland to look for lunch. Along with a local Boulanger, we found Collared Doves, Magpies, and House Sparrows. Then, while looking around for a place to sit down to eat our lunch, we found a pair of White Wagtails. Between the food and the birds, it ended up being a fantastic way to end our day in Toulon.
