Bird Sightings in Rome, Italy

June 30, 2023

Rome was a group tour day, but still ended up being pretty good for birds in the parts of the day spent outside. Wandering around Rome before our Vatican tour, we spotted Rock Doves, Feral Pigeons, Italian Sparrows, Yellow-legged gulls, and a Hooded Crow. More gulls, sparrows and crows were present inside the Vatican grounds, but we didn't spot anything else that was new there. Afterwards we went to the Colosseum, and spent some time in one of the gardens nearby. More pigeons, sparrows and crows were scattered around, but also spotted Common Blackbirds, Monk Parakeets, and some warblers that we're still working on IDing.
